摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam separator whose carry-under performance can be improved under wide-range operational conditions. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inside diameter of a first pickoff ring 5a is made wider than the conventional ones, and a wrapper tube 20 is placed in the inlet part of a second internal cylinder 3b. The wider diameter of the first pickoff ring 5a can reduce the drainage discharge flowing into a first drainage flow channel 8a and curb the quantity of steam discharged from the first drainage flow channel 8a. Moreover, the wrapper tube 20 placed in the inlet part of the second internal cylinder 3b guides a liquid film overflowing the first pickoff ring 5a to the inner wall of the second internal cylinder 3b, making it possible to expect a narrower flow channel of a liquid-vapor two-phase flow (mainly steam) flowing in the center of the tube to heighten a degree of swirling. The structure of the steam separator can decrease the drainage discharge from the first drainage flow channel 8a, increase that from a second drainage flow channel 8b, and improve the carry-under performance without degrading the carry-over performance.
