<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flap type strobe with a light diffusion plate, capable of turning the light diffusion plate to an optional position including a strobe light emitting face front side, and capable of stopping it therein. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The strobe 1 with the light diffusion plate includes: a strobe body 2 provided with a strobe light emitting face 3 on an end face in one side; and the light diffusion plate 11 journalled turnably onto the strobe body 2, and turnable ranging over from a position of covering the strobe light emitting face 3 of the strobe body 2 to a position of contacting with a strobe body face. The strobe 1 is further provided with: a pair of cut-ins 14a, 14b in a position in the vicinity of respective journalled parts of the light diffusion plate 11; and a frictional force increasing part for increasing turning frictional forces to respective bearing holes corresponding to the respective journalled parts, using a side-directional expansion opening force in the one side of the light diffusion plate 11, by engaging the respective journalled parts with the corresponding bearing holes, while brought into a compressed state within a range of a width dimension of the pair of cut-ins 14a, 14b.
