摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a canister mitigating or reducing concentration of evaporative fuel in the vicinity of a purge port during interruption of purge. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A first casing 2 formed with an adsorbent layer 16 composed of adsorbents 15 and a second casing 3 formed with an adsorbent layer 20 composed of adsorbents 19 are connected to each other through a communication passage 5a. The first casing 2 is formed with a charge port 6 and the purge port 7, and the second casing 3 is formed with an atmosphere port 8. A portion in the casing 2, near to the ports 6, 7, is partitioned with a partitioning plate 25. A filter 28 as a permeable member is arranged in a position on a side opposite to the purge port 7 in a partitioned space 27 on a side of the purge port, thereby the space 27 is separately formed as an auxiliary chamber 29. Adsorbents having lower adsorption retentivity of evaporative fuel than the other adsorbents in the first casing 2 are used as adsorbents filled into the auxiliary chamber 29.
