<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rat-repellent resin composition with improved rat-repellent effects compared to conventional ones, and a cable using the rat-repellent resin composition. <P>SOLUTION: This rat-repellent resin composition is formulated with capsaicin (molecular formula: C<SB>18</SB>H<SB>27</SB>NO<SB>3</SB>) and piperine (an isomer of capsaicin) as rat-repellent agents to a polyolefinic resin. Another rat-repellent resin composition is formulated with capsaicin and piperine as rat-repellent agents to a polyvinyl chloride-based resin. The formulation amounts of capsaicin and piperine are preferably 2-10 pts.mass and 1-5 pts.mass, respectively to 100 pts.mass of the resin.
