METHOD FOR PROCESSING PACKETIZED DATA STREAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a packetized data stream.

SOLUTION: This method includes: finding out a packet identifier for identifying a transport packet associated with a selected program on the basis of data, indicating a relationship between the program and the packet identifier, inside a received packetized transport stream; analyzing the packetized transport stream; specifying and acquiring a series of desired transport packets in accordance with the packet identifier. The method further includes: detecting a toggle portion of 1 bit providing error information of each of the series of obtained transport packets; and determining presence/absence of error of a specific type in the transport packet in accordance with a status of the toggle portion of 1 bit.
