<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control method and engine control device which can suppress increase of exhaust emission when performing purge of evaporation fuel in a dual-fuel engine. <P>SOLUTION: The engine control method in a hybrid vehicle 1 which includes the dual-fuel engine 2 which uses a first fuel and a second fuel as the use fuel and a high voltage battery 5, includes: an engine control step which selects an operation mode by the first fuel or the second fuel and controls the engine 2; a purge requesting determination step which determines necessity of purge of the evaporation fuel of the second fuel; a catalysts activation determination step; and a purge execution step. The purge execution step includes: an operation mode change step which changes the operation mode to the second fuel operation mode when the first fuel operation mode is selected and when necessity of purge and non-activation of the catalysts are determined; and a supply step which performs supply of the evaporation fuel after changing to a second fuel operation mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
