PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility, a large current on/off ratio, and excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: The organic transistor has an organic semiconductor layer. The organic semiconductor layer contains at least one compound expressed by a general formula 1. In the formula, X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>10</SB>independently express a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkyl group, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkoxy group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group. Furthermore, adjacent X<SB>2</SB>-X<SB>5</SB>may be bonded to one another to form a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring. Y<SB>1</SB>, Y<SB>2</SB>are independently an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom, or N-R (in this case, R expresses a hydrogen atom, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkyl group, a straight chain, branched, or annular alkyl alkoxyalkyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group).
