PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device for shortening a warm-up time when a fixing mode at the time of power-off or sleeping is a low pressure mode. SOLUTION: The fixing device 22 includes: a heat roller (heating member) 24 and a pressure roller (pressing member) 25 which abut on each other; a heater (heating source) 28 for heating the heat roller 24; and an automatic switching mechanism for automatically switching the fixing mode between a high pressure mode where the fixing pressure is high and the low pressure mode where the fixing pressure is low, wherein when the fixing mode at the power-on or at the recovery from sleeping is the low pressure mode, an aging time for rotationally driving the heat roller 24 and the pressure roller 25 during the warm-up time until they become in a ready state capable of performing the fixing operation is set shorter than that at the high pressure mode.
