<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sink and thermal transfer printer which can lower a temperature in a short time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The heat sink 3 is arranged on a thermal head 2, and provided with a first area 3a which contacts with the top face of the thermal head 2 and a second area 3b which is connected with the first area 3a and hung over form the thermal head 2 in a shape of a pent roof.
