<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid electrolytic capacitor capable of shutting off a current by surely opening an electric circuit when an excessive short-circuit current flows to the solid electrolytic capacitor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this solid electrolytic capacitor 10, a positive electrode lead frame 7 and a negative electrode lead frame 8 are connected to a capacitor element 11 wherein a dielectric layer 3, an electrolyte layer 4 and a negative electrode layer (a carbon layer 5 and a silver paste layer 6) are laminated on a surface of a positive electrode 2 in this order. The solid electrolytic capacitor is composed such that a conductive adhesive layer containing thermally-expandable graphite is formed in at least either of a current path from the positive electrode lead frame to the capacitor element and that from the capacitor element to the negative electrode frame, and a current flowing to the capacitor element passes through the conductive adhesive layer.
