Disclosed is a soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer which exhibits excellent thermal decomposition resistance even when the copolymer experiences thermal history at higher temperatures, has excellent curability, processability and a controlled molecular weight distribution, and is soluble in a solvent. The soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer is produced by copolymerizing a divinyl aromatic compound, a monovinyl aromatic compound and a (meth)acrylic acid ester; has a constituent unit derived from the divinyl aromatic compound, a constituent unit derived from the monovinyl aromatic compound, and a constituent unit derived from the (meth)acrylic acid ester; has a Mn value of 500 to 1,000,000 and a Mw/Mn ratio of 50.0 or less; and is soluble in toluene, xylene, tetrahydrofuran, dichloroethane or chloroform. Also disclosed is a soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer which is produced in the same manner as in the above-mentioned soluble polyfunctional vinyl aromatic copolymer, except that a bifunctional (meth)acrylic acid ester having the properties of both of the divinyl aromatic compound and the (meth)acrylic acid ester is used in place of the divinyl aromatic compound and the (meth)acrylic acid ester. |
