<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microneedle array including microneedles which are easily and uniformly stabbed into a skin surface layer and/or a skin horny layer without breaking and dissolved in the skin surface layer and/or the skin horny layer, and to provide a method for manufacturing the microneedle array. <P>SOLUTION: The plurality of fine needle shape microneedles are formed on the surface of a board, which are formed of a water-soluble or water-swellable resin in a pyramidal, truncated, or konide shape whose one side on the root or diameter is 0.15-1.0 mm and height is 0.1-3.0 mm. At least the front surfaces of the microneedles are coated with a lubricating component in the microneedle array.
