PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an application assignment method for simplifying assignment and execution operation of an application.

SOLUTION: An application assignment device 4 includes: an assignment condition storage part 41 for storing a priority order decided about a plurality of numeric keypads installed in an input device 31; an assignment part 42 for assigning an application to the numeric keypads according to the priority order stored in the assignment condition storage part 41 when the assignment request of the application is made; an assignment result notification part 43 for notifying a user of the assignment result of the application of the assignment part 42; an assignment information storage part 44 for storing the assignment result of the assignment part 42; and an assignment condition changing part 45 for changing the priority order stored in the assignment information storage part 44. The assignment result notification part 43 notifies the user of the assignment result of the assignment part 42 on the operation screen of the image forming apparatus.
