PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination system with flexibility in installation places maintained, and capable of alleviating stress on eyes. SOLUTION: The illumination system includes a light-emitting module 11, a lighting circuit 12 lighting the light-emitting module 11, a control part 13 controlling the lighting circuit 12, and a sensor part 14 for detecting existence of a person 10. The control part 13 controls timing from lighting start of the light-emitting module 11 to the time when a light-emission volume reaches a predetermined value, based on a distance between the person 10 detected by the sensor part 14 and the light-emitting module 11.
