PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alarm which makes it possible to adjust the length of a power cord when the power cord is pulled out from a power cord winding part. SOLUTION: The alarm, which is installed on a wall in a monitoring area and detects abnormality in the monitoring area to raise the alarm, includes: corner hooks 21-24 which are provided at the four corners of the nearly rectangular back face of a back case 13 which constitutes the alarm body; a back face plate 18 which is provided on the back face side of the back case 13 and includes two engaging parts 18a, 18b which are used for installing the alarm 11 on the wall and form an angle of 90°with each other; middle part hooks 25, 26 which are provided in the vicinities of the middles of the sides which respectively face the engaging parts 18a, 18b of the back face of the back case 13; a cord winding part 19 which is formed between the back face side of the back case 13 and the back face plate 18; and a power cord 30 which is wound around the cord winging part 19 and is engaged with either the corner hooks 21-24 or the middle part hooks 25, 26 to be pulled out.
