PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To take out a paper pack from a vacuum cleaner without allowing the paper pack to be caught even when it is fully expanded. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: a dust collecting chamber 2 having an insertion/extraction opening 20 for inserting/extracting the paper pack 7 and a lid body 5 for closing the opening; and an electric blower 4. A paper pack holding case 6 to be inserted/extracted into/from the inserting/extracting opening 20 is arranged in the dust collecting chamber 2, where a surface opposing to the suction hose connection port 12 of a cleaner body 1 and a surface on the side of the insertion/extraction opening 20 of the dust collecting chamber 2 are opened 64, 65 and the other surfaces are breathable paper pack receiving surfaces 60 for preventing the protrusion of the paper pack 7 from the paper pack holding case 6.
