<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a high efficiency of drain by flexibly coping with a variety of modulation systems having different ratios of peak power to average power. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An amplifier circuit unit 10 includes distributor 12, main amplifier 14, peak amplifier 16 and synthesizer 24. On a line between the main amplifier 14 and the synthesizer 24, a variable impedance unit 22 exists. A baseband unit 2 reads out a control voltage based on each modulation system from a memory unit 4. Using the above control voltage, the impedance value of the variable impedance unit 22 is changed, and thereby the operating point of the main amplifier 14 is changed.
