<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for exchanging a functional liquid of a functional liquid supply apparatus, which is capable of exchanging a new and an old functional liquids within a short time and packing the new functional liquid without bringing the new functional liquid into contact with air and a droplet discharge apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for exchanging a functional liquid of a functional liquid supply apparatus is a method for exchanging a new and an old functional liquids in a functional liquid channel of a functional liquid supply apparatus, which is extended from a main tank 181 to an inkjet type functional liquid droplet discharge head 17 via a sub-tank 121, while keeping the functional liquid channel filled with the functional liquid and involves a partial exchange step prescribed times to exchange a new and an old functional liquids, wherein the partial exchange step involves a discharge step of discharging a prescribed amount of a functional liquid out of the sub-tank 121 by suctioning the functional liquid from a discharge nozzle of the functional liquid droplet discharge head 17 and simultaneously replacing the old functional liquid with the new functional liquid in the main tank 181 and a sending step of sending a prescribed amount of the functional liquid to the sub-tank 121 from the main tank 181.
