PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide portable electronic equipment having improved character input efficiency. SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment includes: a display part; an operating part having an input key with predetermined characters allocated thereto and a position change key for changing a character input position in the display part; and a control part for displaying the predetermined characters allocated to the input key on the display part in accordance with the operation of the input key to perform character input processing. The control part displays a character related to a first character at the next input position for character input when the character input position is changed to the next input position for the first character in accordance with the operation of the position change key after the first one the predetermined characters is input and displayed in response to the operation of the input key.
