摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio base station capable of achieving an optimal throughput while keeping communication quality even when a method of transmitting a radio signal is selected, depending on a change in a propagation environment, and to provide a radio communication method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A reception quality information acquisition unit 12 acquires reception quality information indicating reception quality of each of a plurality of antennas at predetermined intervals. A reception quality fluctuation tendency-detecting unit 13 detects a fluctuation tendency of a value relating to the acquired reception quality of each antenna. A correlation determination unit 14 determines a correlation degree between the antennas based on the fluctuation tendency of the value relating to the reception quality detected for each antenna. An antenna selection unit 7 determines a transmission method for radio communication and also selects two or more antennas to be used for radio communication, depending on the correlation degree between the antennas determined by the correlation determination unit 14.
