<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator suppressing generation of abnormal noise and degradation of the waterproof performance in a cylinder, and correctly damping the kinetic energy in the second move of an advancing piston rod by the movement of the piston rod caused by the vibration or the like of a vehicle in a normal condition. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator 21 is used for a hood flip-up device U and provided with a cylinder 22 and a piston rod 40. In the piston rod 40 accommodated in the cylinder 22 in a normal condition, an engagement unit provided on a supporting rod 49 is engaged with a regulating member to regulate the movement in the advancing direction, and the piston rod 40 is held so as not to be moved in the retracting direction by the holding means. During the operation, the regulating member is disengaged from the engagement unit, and slidably brought into contact with a gradually resistance changing unit in a vicinity of a connection part of a piston part 41 of a supporting rod 49 to damp the kinetic energy of the piston rod 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
