<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus capable of detecting a depth of water without increasing manufacturing cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The portable electronic apparatus 1 includes: an operation detection unit 101 which detects a pressing operation with prescribed pressing force; a water immersion state detection unit 102 which detects a water immersion state; a storage unit 103 which stores first information wherein pressing force and a depth of water are associated with each other; an informing unit 104; and a control unit 105 which performs first control corresponding to the pressing operation when the operation detection unit 101 detects the pressing operation while the water immersion detection unit 102 does not detect the water immersion state, and also which performs second control to computes a depth of water on the basis of the pressing force of the pressing operation and the first information and to inform results of the computed depth of water by the informing unit 104 when the operation detection unit 101 detects the pressing operation while the water immersion detection unit 102 detects the water immersion state.
