<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collagen production promotor promoting the production of the collagen by a collagen-producing cell, and comprising a component originated from a plant mild to the body, and to provide a cosmetic, and an oral composition for promoting the collagen production. <P>SOLUTION: The collagen production promotor contains piceatannol as an active ingredient for promoting the collagen production. The piceatannol is preferably originated from a natural product, and is more preferably originated from a plant. An extract of a seed of a passion fruit is preferably used because the seed of the passion fruit contains the piceatannol in high content.
