摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine including an adsorbent capable of adsorbing non-purified components in exhaust gas at cold start of the internal combustion engine, which executes more efficient exhaust purification by controlling the amount of heat input to the adsorbent with high precision. <P>SOLUTION: The device determines whether or not purge processing execution condition is established (Step 400), estimates an input heat amount Hin on the basis of engine information of an engine 10 (Step 404) and catalyst floor temperature Tc(Pf) (Step 406) and minimum catalyst floor temperature Tcmin(Pf) (Step 408) of U/F catalyst 18 on the basis of the input heat amount Hin, and specifies as a distribution ratio Pfx a distribution ratio Pf making the catalyst floor temperature Tc(Pf) and minimum catalyst floor temperature Tcmin(Pf) equal (Step 410).
