<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus effectively utilizing a shape of an image and a display area of an image display section. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: an apparatus body 2; an imaging device for capturing the subject light from a subject through an objective lens 3 provided on the front surface of the apparatus body; a first display 5 which is provided on the back surface opposite from the front surface of the apparatus body and displays the captured image based on at least an image signal read out from the imaging device or an image signal recorded on a recording medium; and a second display 6 which displays related information which is information related to at least the captured image. The apparatus is also provided with: a display unit capable of switching the placement state of the second display between a first state which superimposes the second display on the first display to block the first display and a second state which advances the second display off the display surface of the first display so as to expose the first display; a detection unit which detects the amount of advance of the second display with respect to the first display in the second state of the display unit; and a display controller for controlling the display state of the related information displayed on at least the second display in accordance with the value detected by the detection unit.
