<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device structured to prevent a light leakage and to suppress the damage of a sealing film. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The organic EL device includes an element substrate 20A having a plurality of light-emitting elements 21 forming a display region, and a thin-film sealing layer F formed covering the plurality of light-emitting elements 21; a counter substrate 30A facing and stuck to the element substrate 20A; and a sealing layer 33 provided along the peripheral edge part of the facing region of the element substrate 20A and counter substrate 30A. The counter substrate 30A has a support substrate 31, a cushioning layer 34 deformable under applied stress, and a color filter layer 32 deformable following the deformation of the cushioning layer 34. The color filter layer 32 and the cushioning layer 34 are deformed following the surface shape of the thin-film sealing layer F based on the stress that sticks the element substrate 20A and counter substrate 30A to each other.
