<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass having low thermal expansibility, a low glass transition temperature and low-temperature meltability, and to provide glass preferably having an average coefficient of linear expansion at 0-300°C of ≤50×10<SP>-7</SP>°C<SP>-1</SP>, more preferably ≤45×10<SP>-7</SP>°C<SP>-1</SP>, most preferably ≤40×10<SP>-7</SP>°C<SP>-1</SP>and preferably having a glass transition temperature of ≤650°C, more preferably ≤630°C, most preferably ≤600°C. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The glass includes, by mass% on an oxide basis, SiO<SB>2</SB>, B<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and ZnO and includes an SiO<SB>2</SB>content of 60-70% and a total content of Li<SB>2</SB>O, Na<SB>2</SB>O and K<SB>2</SB>O of <5%.
