HEAT PIPE INTERCOOLER FOR TURBOMACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pipe intercooler for a turbomachine without using a large quantity of water. SOLUTION: This turbomachine 2 includes a compressor 4 having an intake part 6 and an exhaust part 7. The compressor 4 forms a compressed air flow sent out of the exhaust part 7 by compressing air received by the intake part 6. The turbomachine 2 also includes the intercooler 9 operably connected to the downstream side of the compressor 4. The intercooler 9 includes a plurality of heat pipes constituted so as to extract heat from the compressed air flow. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
