<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit stable performance with excellent high-frequency communication characteristics without causing crosstalk by surrounding the peripheries of insulating regions by a conductive housing functioning as the ground or an electromagnetic shield while having the small spacing of the internal conductive regions functioning as conductive wires. <P>SOLUTION: A connector has the conductive housing formed of a conductive material; a plurality of isolated insulating regions formed of an insulating material and existing in the conductive housing; and the internal conductive regions formed of a conductive material and existing in the respective insulating regions. The conductive housing has an abutment surface abutting on a mating connector. Each insulating region is formed such that only one face is exposed to the abutment surface and flush with the abutment surface and that the other part is embedded in the conductive housing.
