<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of trouble caused by such a situation in which while feeding a medium to be recorded from a stacking unit, other medium to be recorded is inserted from a manual feed slot. <P>SOLUTION: When paper 3A is inserted from the manual feed slot while feeding paper 3B of a sheet feed tray to the image forming unit and performing the image forming operation, the image forming operation is aborted.
