<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide parking supporting equipment securely and safely supporting driver's parking operation, based on the results of positional inference of a driver's own vehicle, a position of an obstacle, and a shape of corner of the obstacle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The parking supporting equipment is provided with the means for inferring a position and direction of travel of driver's own vehicle, detecting an obstacle around the own vehicle, inferring the position and the shape of corner of the obstacle for the position of the own vehicle, based on the results of inference of the own vehicle and detection of distance, inferring a position of target parking section, based on the results of inference of the obstacle, determining appropriateness of the results of inference of the target section, and informing a driver of the results of inference of the target parking section based on the results of determining, appropriateness of the inferred section and the results of inference of the target section to support the driver in entering the target parking section.
