<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation-based activated substances capable of enhancing peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation activity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting the peroxisomal fatty acid β-oxidation-based activated substances cincludes the steps of adding an agent to be detected and a labelled super long chain fatty acid to human skin fibroblasts reduced in the β-oxidation activity of super long chain fatty acids, culturing the same and measuring the labelled amount in the aqueous metabolized product after culturing.
