<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an allergen inspection device for simply and quantitatively analyzing a deactivation capacity of an allergen possessed by an allergen deactivating building material by reproducing a state in actual daily life in order not only to deactivate the allergen possessed by pollen, a tick or the like but also to evaluate the capacity of a building material suppressing the development of allergy, and an allergen inspection method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: After a test object to which allergen deactivating treatment is applied is installed on the floor surface of the box body of the allergen inspection device and the inside of the box body is adjusted to temperature and humidity within the range of at least a daily living environment, a preliminarily quantified allergen powder is sprinkled over the test object to perform allergen deactivation reaction. Thereafter, the allergen powder on the test object is subsequently recovered, and the amount of the allergen contained in the allergen powder is quantitatively analyzed to calculate a deactivation ratio.
