<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suede-like multi-ply packaging paper producible at a low cost, having suede-like appearance and touch different from those of ordinary paper and suitable for bag-making use or packaging use in spite of using paper, having high antislipping property and score crack resistance, and especially suitable for bag making use. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The multi-ply packaging paper having suede-like appearance is produced from a multi-ply packaging paper having a base paper composed of at least two paper layers including a front layer and a back layer by coating the surface of at least the front layer of the paper with a water-dispersed resin containing resin particles, thereby forming a coating layer on the surface.
