PLASMA DISPLAY AND DISPLAY METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display for selecting a gradation number suitable to the number of sustaining pulses changed in response to a display load rate.

SOLUTION: The plasma display for displaying input signals in gradation by having a plurality of sub-fields weighing brightness by each field and controlling lighting of each sub-field includes: a number of sustaining pulses modification controlling part (116) for modifying and controlling the total number of sustaining pulses of each field; a gradation number conversion processing part (104) for converting input signals into display signals of selected gradation numbers by selecting the gradation number expressed by the plasma display in response to the total number of sustaining pulses; and an error diffusion processing part (106) for spatially diffusing values corresponding to decimals when gradation values of the display signals in the selected gradation number have the value corresponding to the decimals.
