<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficiently removing oil mist, capable of reducing the amount of washing water used for maintaining its capacity of catching oil mist, and an apparatus for treating the washing water. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for removing oil mist for use in maintaining the dust collection capacity of an electric dust collector 2 by removing water-soluble oil mist a adhering to its dust collection plate 3 by way of washing with water subsequent to removing water-soluble oil mist a by virtue of the dust collection plate 3 of the electric dust collector 2, is characterized by comprising a system of carrying out washing using primary washing water comprising water-soluble oil mist a in a large amount and a system of carrying out rinsing with water using clean rinse water. The apparatus further comprises a washing-liquid treatment device that separates the primary washing water having come to contain water-soluble oil mist a in a high concentration and thus having become unsuitable for the washing use, into a concentrated waste liquid and a clean distillate, and a system of reusing the clean distillate as the rinse water.
