<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deposit cleaning method in an exhaust emission control device capable of easily removing deposits accumulated accompanying injection of an additive from an injector. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An attachment 80 is attached to an attachment hole 62 of a base 60, and includes a passage 75 communicating one opening 73 facing a communication passage 61 and another opening 74 facing the outside. The attachment 80 is attached to the attachment hole 62 in place of the injector for injecting the additive on the upstream side of an exhaust emission controlling catalyst. Thereafter, exhaust gas 90 is distributed in an exhaust pipe 12a by driving an engine to thereby detach the deposits 80 accumulated on a wall face 61a of the communication passage 61 by the exhaust gas 90 from the wall face 61a, and the deposits 80 are discharged to the outside along with the exhaust gas 90 via the passage 75 of the attachment 72.
