<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transport device allowing a worker to hold only a workpiece by both hands always and feed it safely without using electric power as a power source. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This transport device has a plurality of plate-like members arranged in parallel and a chain 3 circulating in an endless manner to transport the workpiece W in the direction vertical to the longitudinal direction of the plate-like member. Each of the plate-like members is provided with receiving members 7A, 7B for loading the workpieces, and a workpiece takeout detection switch 9 is provided at a workpiece takeout side, and the workpiece takeout switch 9 has a function for transmitting a detection signal to a controller when the workpiece comes into contact with a detection part.
