<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for treating sea urchin with which gonads in complete state are collected without damaging gonads as much as possible, a shell on the periphery of mouth-part side is cut, mouth-parts and internal organs are removed, gonads are picked, the obtained shell is used as tableware for dish of sea urchin, a food container or a frozen food container and a method for treating sea urchin. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for treating sea urchin includes a fastening device 4 for fastening sea urchin from the opposite side of the mouth-part side of sea urchin and a cutting device 2 that is arranged at a position facing the fastening device 4 and cuts a sea urchin shell.
