<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress rapid charge and discharge to a capacitor constituting a power supply of a gate drive circuit in a switching element of an upper arm in a power conversion apparatus having a main circuit where upper and lower arms with two switching elements connected in series are connected in parallel and a gate drive circuit for driving each switching element. <P>SOLUTION: A charging circuit (24) is constituted of a capacitor (21) charged by an AC power supply (2), switching elements (Su, Sv, Sw) of the upper arm, and a capacitor (23) for the upper arm which can supply lower voltage than the source side of the switching elements (Su, Sv, Sw) to the gate drive circuit (20). In a state where a power supply circuit (40) for control is connected to an AC power supply (2) but no power is supplied to an inverter circuit (13) side, the switching elements (Su, Sv, Sw) are operated to turn on and off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
