<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both high efficiency and a wide operating range in a multistage centrifugal compressor. <P>SOLUTION: In this multistage centrifugal compressor 100, a plurality of impellers 1 are attached to the same rotary shaft 4. Vaned diffusers 2 and vaneless diffusers 5 are used, as diffusers, for respective compressor stages 21-25 configuring the compressor 100. The vaned diffusers 2 are continuously used from the first compressor stage 21 to the middle compressor stage 23, and the vaneless diffusers 5 are used for the last compressor stage 25 and the previous stage 24. While high efficiency is maintained at the compressor stages 21-23 having the vaned diffusers 2, the operating range is secured at the compressor stages 24, 25 having the vaneless diffusers 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
