FLAME-RETARDANT COMPOSITION, INSULATED WIRE USING THE SAME, AND WIRING HARNESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant composition having excellent wear resistance and cold resistance, and to provide an insulated wire using the flame-retardant composition and a wiring harness.

SOLUTION: The flame-retardant composition contains: a base resin of which the coefficient of elasticity is 500 MPa or more, and the Charpy impact strength at -20°C is 1 KJ/m2or more; and a flame retardant formed by pulverizing a natural mineral including magnesium hydroxide as a main constituent. It is desirable that the base resin includes polypropylene as a main constituent. Furthermore, it is desirable that 30-250 pts.wt. of magnesium hydroxide is contained with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the base resin in the composition. The insulated wire is formed by coating the perimeter of a conductor with the flame-retardant composition. The wiring harness includes the insulated wire.
