<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for easily capturing a desired best scene, and to provide an imaging method. <P>SOLUTION: An image of one or more frames including image data A is initially displayed on a display section 18, the image data being captured before detecting a release operation by a response delay time peculiar to a photographer. Then, image data are read from a built-in memory 12 in order of the shooting time close to that of the image data A, according to a predetermined operation of the photographer. A corresponding image is displayed while the image initially displayed on the display section 18 is updated.
