POSITION MEASUREMENT SYSTEM, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE AND POSITION MEASUREMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform position management of an article disposed in an indoor area or the like with small power consumption.

SOLUTION: A position measurement system for measuring a position of a terminal in a prescribed area has: a terminal including an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) and a wireless communication device; a reading device for communicating with the RFID; and a base station for wirelessly communicating with the wireless communication device. The reading device transmits a first signal showing that the terminal enters the prescribed area to the RFID included in the terminal when the terminal enters the prescribed area. The RFID starts the wireless communication device when receiving the first signal. The base station acquires position information of the terminal by communicating with the wireless communication device. The reading device transmits a second signal showing that the terminal comes out from the prescribed area to the RFID included in the terminal when the terminal comes out from the prescribed area. The RFID stops the wireless communication device when receiving the second signal.
