A power seat drive device (100) has a detection electrode (10) provided at a backrest section (102) of a power seat (101) and also has a control device (20) for controlling movement of the power seat (101) based on a detection signal from the detection electrode (10). When the distance of approach between the detection electrode (10) and a human body (108) decreases to an extent in which a determination voltage Vth1 is exceeded, the control device (20) causes the speed of movement of the power seat (101) to decrease and an alarm sound to be outputted, and when the distance of approach further decreases to an extent in which a determination voltage Vth2 is exceeded, the control device (20) causes the movement of the power seat (101) to stop.
