PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device and a method of mounting the storage device which is a heavy object such as a fire hydrant device, allowing the storage device to be mounted inside a tunnel by a small number of workers while securing the safety. SOLUTION: According to the method of mounting the storage device, the fire hydrant device 10 is hoisted by a crane 84 in such an inclined state as displaced from the position of the center of gravity G so that the upper part of the device is close to a wall surface side of the tunnel and the lower part is separated from the wall surface of the tunnel, and in that state, the fire hydrant device 10 is moved in the pendular state to a bored part 82 on the wall surface of the tunnel. Then, the fire hydrant device 10 is mounted at a position of a cradle 11 approximately in the horizontal state. The fire hydrant device 10 is hoisted with a hook hung from a ring disposed on the upper surface of a casing located in the front of a vertical line passing through the center of gravity G as the casing is seen from a side.
