PURPOSE: A magnesium alloy housing and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to enable a brushing process on the surface and be prevented from being easily oxidized or corroded. CONSTITUTION: A magnesium alloy housing(10) comprises a magnesium alloy substrate(11). A plating layer(12), a support layer(13), a brushing layer(14), and a transparent protection layer(16) are successively formed on the magnesium alloy substrate. The plating layer contains phosphate. The brushing layer is formed on the paint layer. The support layer comprises a primer layer(132) and a paint layer(134) attached on the plating layer. The primer layer contains the epoxy resin and black pigment. The paint layer contains the acrylic resin and black pigment. The magnesium alloy housing additionally includes an exterior reinforcing layer(15) formed between the transparent protection layer and the brushing layer. The transparent protection layer mainly contains the acrylic resin.
