Pyridyl-(2)-phosphates and phosphorothicates are disclosed which have in 5-position at the pyridine nucleus a thiazolinyl-(2) grouping and which are insecticidal and acaricidal agents useful in the control of insects and Acarinae, and more particularly of cattle ticks. Compositions containing these novel compounds, methods for controlling insects and Acarinae therewith, and novel 2-hydroxy- and 2-mercapto-5-thiazolinyl-(2')-pyridines useful as intermediates in their production are also described.
