<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine by which a reduction control is exerted in an appropriate region according to a load of the internal combustion engine and temperature of a catalyst so as to improve characteristics of exhaust emission, and enhance fuel efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust emission control device 1 of the internal combustion engine 3, NOx in exhaust emission is captured by the catalyst 7 installed in an exhaust passage 5. When a detected load NE, PMCMD of the internal combustion engine 3 are lower than the upper limits NH, PH, the captured NOx is reduced by controlling the exhaust emission flowing in the catalyst 7 in a reductive atmosphere. The upper limits NH, PH are set at smaller values as the obtained temperature TCAT of the catalyst decreases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
