<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify an abnormal battery out of many batteries to be mutually connected in series, while having an extremely simple circuit configuration. <P>SOLUTION: A power supply for vehicles includes a series battery group 10 including a plurality of series-connected battery units 11 and a balance circuit 20 which detects a voltage of each battery unit 11 comprising the series battery group 10 and discharges the higher-voltage battery units 11 to equalize the voltage of each battery unit 11. The balance circuit 20 includes a balance capacity detection circuit 30 detecting a balance capacity which is a discharge capacity to be discharged in order to equalize the voltage of the battery units 11 and a determination circuit 31 determining a battery status based on the balance capacity to be detected by the balance capacity detection circuit 30. In the power supply for vehicles, the balance circuit 20 detects the balance capacity for equalization of the voltage of the battery units 11 through the balance capacity detection circuit 30 and the determination circuit 31 determines the battery status of the battery units 11 based on the balance capacity of each battery unit 11 to be detected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
